Elise Trudel Cedeño

Reading Interventionist and Online Literacy Educator.

I work online on multiple educational avenues, including Signum Academy and other private homeschooling pods.

It’s very easy for me to run out of room on my bookshelves, and baking pies both stresses and relaxes me at the same time. When time permits, I volunteer at animal shelters and foster cats and kittens!

Past Experiences

Reading Interventionist, Grades 3-5

Taught Tier 2 Reading Intervention to students in Grades 3, 4, and 5. I assessed students and tracked data from NWEA and Dyslexia Screeners, provided coaching and support to Gen Ed teachers, conferenced with parents and students on their reading growth, and taught Tier 1 ELA content when needed. During this time I was also trained in Wilson FUNdations and Just Words programs.

Book Club Facilitator

(2020-2023)

I taught Book Clubs, Writing Workshops, and Literacy Tutoring remotely to upper elementary and middle school students. I also planned and developed a curriculum to support homeschooling families. All workshops were student-led, discussion-based bi-weekly conversations using the whole novel study approach. These lessons were tailored to meet Common Core-aligned standards and New Hampshire Board of Education competencies.

Literacy Teacher at Book Nook Enrichment
(2018 – 2020)
I taught small groups of nursery-age students (18 months to 5 years old) foundational literacy concepts, including early phonemic awareness, letter and sound recognition, fine motor development, and early social development through creative and dramatic play.

Reading Teacher at Brooklyn Prospect Charter School
(2017 – 2018)
I taught daily literacy lessons to middle grade developing readers (grade 6-8) using independent reading tactics, conferencing, and formative assessments to measure comprehension growth. Reading levels were assessed using STAR Assessments and Fountas and Pinnell.
